Learning is a lifelong endeavor and should be joyful and entertaining. This philosophy of mine carries over into my work as both a learner and an educator. I've been lucky to teach people from many different places, including Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Holland. Regardless of where we come from or what our background is, we all have a lot to learn and discover. The best way to approach teaching is to make it interesting and fun. I graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater and an Applied Theater minor. I've been working with youth for the past ten years, and I have been fortunate to build some great bonds with the youth and families I've encountered. Something I've come to understand as an educator is that everyone has their own unique way of learning. Though there may be similarities between learning styles, everyone relates to information differently, and I must work to understand and mediate those different styles. A tutor is also always a mentor. In this way, it's important to develop a bond with students that is built on mutual trust and empowerment. Educators must build secure, safe, and encouraging learning spaces for their students in order for them to prosper and grow. I'm comfortable tutoring many levels of Math, Spanish, History, English, and Creative Writing. I enjoy film, sports, travel, sci-fi, and storytelling.
