I received a B.A. in Mathematics from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Statistics at Oxford. Since then, I have been working many years in Los Angeles as a tutor. Nothing gives me more pleasure than teaching and helping children and university students. The ability to give students confidence and help them have a greater understanding is something that is very important to me.I believe helping a student academically is empowering that student to such an extent that it will make a positive impact on his or her life. Helping students navigate academia is not only rewarding to them, but it is to me as well. I am passionate about teaching, and within the realm of education, tutoring is where I feel the most comfortable. When I tutor, I am able to teach a vast array of subjects on a one-on-one level. Teaching privately allows me to understand my student's strengths, weaknesses, and study habits. I also enjoy tutoring because it allows me to have more flexibility with my schedule, which is something that is not as common in a formal educational setting.I truly believe that my background in academia, combined with my strong mathematical skills and drive to teach, are my personal strengths as a tutor.
