Experience
I am a Bard College graduate, with a Bachelors degree in History, who worked with different students with Academic Advantage and students pursuing their GED in the Bard Prison Initiative. We focused on improving the students' reading, writing, and arithmetic skills to give them the opportunity to grow as life long learners. I cherished my time spent with each student because I learned as much from them as they learned from me. The value of learning and improving one's education was present throughout each tutoring session and I grew to admire the students' desire to grow. I also have experience working as a Substitute Teacher throughout the Los Angeles area and I believe I am capable of fulfilling the functions of the position. I feel comfortable teaching a variety of students and look forward to the opportunity to work with and learn from new pupils. I would specifically like to tutor subjects that fall under the Humanities, particularly Writing, English, Reading Comprehension, and History, but feel comfortable tutoring math subjects up to Algebra or early high school Math. I will bring a passion and drive to the position with the desire to grow with the students.
